Male Runner of the Week (Oct. 23-28)
Senior Hunter Jacobs led the bucks to represent Hoke County High School at the NCHSAA 4A Mideast Regional XC Meet on Oct. 28th. Hunter completed the tough course in a time of 18:00.

Male Runner of the Week (Oct.16-20)
Senior Hunter Jacobs earned All Conference recognition by finishing 11th out of 64 runners at the SAC-8 XC Championship Meet in Southern Pines on October 19th. His performance earned him All Conference honors for the 3rd time in his high school cross country career. He led the Hoke County runners with a personal Elks Club course record of 17:45.

Female Runner of the Week (Oct.16-20)
At the SAC-8 XC Championship Meet in Southern Pines on October 19th, senior Maya Singletary ran her 5k personal best time of 22:57, knocking another minute off of her PR. Maya's impressive finish was only one place behind Hoke County's top XC runner, junior Haleigh Grace. Haleigh improved her personal Elks Club Course best time by over a minute, completing the race in 22:45.

Male Runner of the Week (Oct. 9 - 13)?
Freshman Deidrick Rush ran his personal course record (18:27) at the Elks Club Golf Course in Southern Pines on October 10. He finished 9th out of 100 male runners.
Since then, Deidrick set his 5k personal record time of 17:56 on the same course at the SAC-8 Conference Championship Meet on October 19th.

Female Runner of the Week (Oct. 9 - 13)?
Freshman Nazira Buddie ran her course personal record (28:55) at the Elks Club Golf Course in Southern Pines on October 10th. She cut her previous time on the hilly course by nearly 4 minutes.
Since then, Nazira set her 5k personal record time of 27:01 on the same course at the Conference Championship meet on October 19th.

Senior Hunter Jacobs finished 1st out of 35 boys at the SAC-8 Cross Country race hosted by Hoke County High School on October 3rd. He led his team to a first place finish, running his 5k personal best time of 17:15.

Junior Haleigh Grace won the girls Cross Country race hosted by Hoke County High School on October 3rd. She led her team to first place, running her 5k personal best time of 22:17.

Senior Hunter Jacobs finished 3rd at the meet hosted by Jack Britt on September 26th. He led the Bucks with a season's best time of 18:28.

Female Runner of the Week (Sept. 25-29)
Senior Maya Singletary finished 5th at the meet hosted by Jack Britt High School on September 26th. She ran a personal best time of 24:05, which is over two minutes faster than her previous personal best two weeks ago.

Male Runner of the Week (Sept. 18-22)
Freshman Deidrick Rush finished 12th out of 58 boys at the Elks Club Golf Course in Southern Pines on September 19th. He was the second Hoke County male runner to complete the hilly course with a time of 19:44.

Female Runner of the Week (Sept. 18-22)
Nationally recognized track athlete, Maya Singletary, is consistently performing as Hoke County High School's number two female cross country runner this season. On September 19 she completed the hilly 5k course in Southern Pines with a time of 26:35.

Male Runner of the Week (Sept. 11-15)
Cross Country newcomer, Angel Luciano, excelled in his first race of the season, finishing 5th among a field of 50 male runners at Luther Britt Park on Sept. 14th. He was the second male runner from Hoke County to finish the course with a time of 20:34.

Female Runner of the Week (Sept. 11 - 15)
Haleigh Grace was the 2nd of 40 females to finish the 5k course at Luther Britt Park in Lumberton on September 14th. She led the lady bucks with a season's best time of 23:45.

Senior Hunter Jacobs led the boys to a strong second place finish to start the season. He finished 3rd out of 57 male runners with a time of 19:05! Go Hunter!

Junior Haleigh Grace came in 10th place out of 58 girls at the first SAC-8 Cross Country race of the season on Tuesday, September 5th. Her time was 24:37. Keep up the good work, Haleigh!

Cross Country Gains Two New Head Coaches

The Boys' team is led by Coach David Shaw and the Girls' team is lead by Coach Rachel Hudson. An open invitation to all who wish to join the team. It is not too late. Contact either coach or the Athletic Director Coach Brigman.
Practices are at 4pm and meet behind the weight room on campus. You will need a current athletic physical to participate.
