Boys Varsity Soccer week of 9/14

We started the week with a 4-2 win over St. Pauls. Kaylon Diaz, Edwin Andoney, Mateo Blum, and David Williams were our the goal scorers. Josue Maldonado had one assist and Marcos Osorio was man of the match. The boys played well, but got complacent to allow St. Pauls to score in a game that we totally controlled.
The boys then lost 1-3 to Richmond in their first conference match. Richmond is a good team and I felt that we played just as well as them, except they took care of their chances. David Williams scored our lone goal with an assist from Edwin Andoney stemming from good flank play. Alex Patricio was named player of the game for his his display of exquisite skills and defensive work.
We then bounced back with a fine 4-0 victory over Union Pines. Darwyn Lopez and Hector Castllo scored 1 goal each, while David Williams scored 2 goals. Darwyn and Jose Maldonado had 1 assist each. Carlos Lopez and Jonavan McKinnon shared the shutout in goal. Wesley Baldwin was named player of the game for his consistent play in defense.
