Boys Varsity Soccer week of 8/31

This was a good week for us with 2 wins and 1 tie. Our defense played extremely well allowing zero goals . Credit has to be given to Wesley Baldwin and Humberto Mejia for their excellent play in defense. Goalkeepers Ezikiel Jones, Jonavan McKinnon and Carlos Lopez-Rosario posted the shutouts. Mateo Blum played very well in the forward position where he assisted Darwyn on one of his goals.
We started the week with a 0-0 tie versus Union Pines, then we traveled to Marlboro Academy and won 4-0 with goals coming from Darwyn Lopez(2), Edwin Andoney, and Kaylon Diaz. We finally finished our rained out game with Southview with a 3-0 victory. Goal scorers were Kaylon Diaz, Marcos Osorio, and Edwin Andoney. Marcos had a nice corner to Kaylon for the assist.
Hopefully the boys confidence is up, but realize that we have to continue working hard in practice.
