Hoke High Track Athletes Join a Summer Track Club & Earn a National Track Title

The Hoke County Blazers, a summer club track team that consists of runners from Hoke High and
East Hoke Middle School are celebrating a huge win this month after becoming National
Champions and 2x All Americans. The champion runners competing in the 4x100 for the
Blazers were Jaden Rivers, Orza Salone, DeQuavious Mosley, and Jamari Dortch-Johnson.
These Young men competed at the Adidas Nationals on June 17th-18th in Greensboro. The event was held on the NC A&T University campus. The Blazers finished 5th in the nation in the 4x200 National Championship, and Won the "Emerging Elites" Championships in the 4x100. In addition to these high school aged runners, two East Hoke Middle School student athletes were able to complete as well. Middle school
runners were Jacobi Simmons and Liam Notestine-Willie and they both competed in the 800-
and 1600-meter runs. The Hoke County Blazers are coached by Orza Salone, Matt Brown,
Marcus Lewis, Eugene Rogers, David Shaw, Regena McLaughlin, Juliette Southerland and
Tacara McGregor, some of which are also coaches at Hoke County High School. During the school year, Coaches Regena McLaughlin and David Shaw lead the Varsity Buck track team.

The Hoke County Blazers will hit the track again on July 2nd as they compete in the AAU
