The Fighting hosted its first track meet of the season. The Bucks were joined on the track by Pinecrest, Scotland, and Southern Lee. The event was cut short due to rain over the course of the entire afternoon. The girls' track team placed 4 of the top 7 in the 100-meter dash led by Amara Morrisey and 3 of the top 6 in the 400-meter dash led by Ashley Bell. Both finished second in their respective races. Ashley Bell would also tie for second in the high jump while Navaeh Mallory would place 3rd in the triple jump. In the field events, Morgan Harrelson would take first in the shot put. Morgan would also finish 1st in the discus throw as she and fellow Bucks Angel Jones and Jiadah Burgess swept the top three spots in the discus event. In the boys track meet Hoke Countyś Jamari Dortch-Johnson won the 100-meter dash. In the 400 meter dash, Hoke County placed 1st and 2nd with Orza Salone and Treshawn Fisher. In the relays, Hoke placed 1st in the 4 x 200 and 2nd in the 4 x 800. In the field events, Jaleb Tupuola placed 2nd in the discus throw. Due to the weather over the weekend the 3rd Annual Kathy McMillian Invitational had to be rescheduled. This event will now be held on Saturday, April 1 at Raz Autry Stadium. Teams will check-in starting at 9 am and the competition will begin at approximately 10 am.
